An age gap and a dog’s human-equivalent age describe different things. Choose by your inputs and the result you need.

Age gap between two people

Enter two birth dates. The result is a fixed Gregorian calendar interval in years, months and days; swapping dates does not change it.

Dog and cat human-equivalent age

Enter completed pet years and choose a species guide. The result is an approximate conversion, rather than a date difference or a medical age.

Calendar age on a chosen date

Enter a birth date and reference date. Use this for a person or an animal’s actual elapsed calendar age, without species conversion.

For example, two birth dates one year apart have a calendar gap of one year. A one-year-old pet is still one calendar year old even when a conversion guide compares it with a much older human. These outputs cannot be substituted for each other.
